Elementary 4

Fourth grade students explored the elements of art first semester. In their Hot Air Balloon compositions they utilized glue, gesso paint and string to add texture.  Primary and neutral colored paints were mixed to produce a wide variety of secondary and tertiary colors.  See some brightly colored examples of this project, as well as some lovely Autumn Leaves, attached.

In January, students imagined a fun activity in a winter wonderland. These beautiful scenes (attached) were achieved using colored chalk dipped in white tempera.  The Chinese dragon paintings done in February were also quite well done, but were too large for the scanner.  They will be put up at the Art Show in May.
